Type Rating
An FAA certification allowing a pilot to act as pilot-in-command of a specific aircraft type, typically required for anything over 12,500 pounds or any turbojet. Type ratings are earned almost entirely in full-motion Level D simulators because flying a real 737 for training is wildly impractical.
